Merchant - Request Manufacturer Specs

Darren Thornbury for the manufacturer filling in the details, knowing how i can be lazy, could you have a button "request verified specs from manufacturer" button as required? IE, I don't advertise my current draws, but IF somebody emailed me then for sure I'd have to look it up or take a new measurement and get back to them. I'd feel bad leaving them hanging since it's a personal request. I'm less likely to build something and then fill it out.

Instrument story history

Basically an area when the owner can add details about the history with the instrument. For example: I own a J&D Luthiers SG that I bought when I was 16 and have owned it ever since. It was used a lot when I first started learning heavier guitar parts. It was my first electric guitar. It has a unique tone and I always come up with something interesting with it. The only modifications it has had was the bridge pickup. The bridge pickup sounded weak compared to the neck pickup so I bought a pickup from a guy on eBay. He said it was from a Flying V from the 70s. It was definitely hotter sounding than the stock pickup from J&D. Gave it an edge. Adding stories like this to the instrument are a way of capturing the narrative or journey of the instrument. Can add intrinsic value to the instrument and can also show a history of musicians that owned it and played it.

Autofill instrument details from photos

When adding a new instrument, let users either take or upload photos of the brand logo and serial number (for example, front and back of a guitar headstock) and use image/OCR analysis to detect the Brand, Model, and Serial Number, then auto-fill the instrument details. Also support manual entry of brand and serial number that still triggers the same manufacturer lookup and autofill so users can choose between image analysis automation, manual entry with manufacturer autofill, or full manual entry.

Tracking Code Coating paint

A clear spray on coating that has a unique code that is repeated a million times. The idea is that even if the coating is worn off in different areas, the code can still be retrieved if there is 1% of it. The code is registered to the manufacturer. Those details would be stored in a cloud based service provided by Sonority. The codes would be tied to that service. The purpose of this unique coating is so that if the instrument was ever stolen or lost, the code could be scanned and then the specific details of the instrument be shown. It can also be used as a trigger point when scanned to update status or location of the instrument.

Instrument value assessment

Idea is that you have the cost history of what you paid for the item. Then there is an Estimated Value service. Which can then be used to value your instrument when you sell it in the marketplace but also to have a market value for insurance. Example: Bought a 2003 Fender Strat in 2005 for $600. In 2023 that guitar is now valued at $1200. Factors includes famous musicians, reviews and tone rating.

GOOGLE LOGIN

Feature Title: Google Login (Sign in with Google) What do you want: Allow users to sign in to Sonority using their existing Google account via OAuth 2.0. A "Sign in with Google" button on the login and registration screens would authenticate users instantly, without needing to create a separate email/password credential. Who does it help: All users — Musicians, Makers, Touring Pros, and Studios. Especially valuable for new users during onboarding, reducing friction at the sign-up stage and increasing conversion. Returning users benefit from one-tap access without remembering a password. Current workaround: Users must manually create and remember a separate Sonority email/password combination, or use a password manager. There is no social login shortcut currently available. Mockup or example: (optional) Reference: accounts.google.com/signin — standard "Sign in with Google" button (white pill button with Google logo). Common implementation examples: Spotify, Reverb, Bandcamp onboarding flows.

DISCORD LOGIN

Ability for users to use their Discord credentials to sign up/in to Discord. Here’s that version, cleaned up for public-facing use: Problem Many Sonority users are already active on Discord and expect to use their existing Discord account to access new music tools and communities. Having to create and manage a separate Sonority password adds friction, increases drop-off at signup, and creates yet another set of credentials for users to maintain. Proposed solution Add Discord as a social login option alongside existing authentication methods, allowing users to sign up and sign in with their Discord account in one click. This would use Discord’s OAuth2 flow (for example, identify and email scopes where available) to create or link a Sonority account, and then log the user in automatically on subsequent visits. Why this is valuable Reduced friction at signup for Discord-native musicians, techs and community members, leading to higher conversion and activation. Fewer passwords for users to remember, improving both security and user experience. Tighter alignment with Sonority’s existing Discord community and bots, making it easier to connect in‑app identities with Discord roles and channels in future. High-level acceptance criteria “Continue with Discord” button is available on both Sign up and Log in screens. New users can create a Sonority account using Discord OAuth (no separate password required), with basic profile data (name, avatar, email) pulled from Discord where possible. Existing Sonority users can link and unlink their Discord account from their profile/settings, and then use Discord to log in. Clear error handling if Discord authorization fails or is cancelled, with a simple way to retry or fall back to email login.
