Short Answer

Use Sonority to add each instrument and piece of gear with make, model, serial, value, photos, weight, dimensions, and location so your whole rig lives in one trusted inventory.

Long Answer

In Sonority, every instrument and piece of gear starts as an item in your inventory, which becomes the single source of truth for what you own. From the main inventory view, tap to add a new item and enter its core details: instrument type (guitar, bass, synth, drum, amp, pedal, mic, outboard, etc.), brand, model name, and year if known. You can also enter a serial or model number, which Sonority will increasingly use to auto‑populate technical details as the global instrument database grows.

Next, add financial and visual context. Enter purchase price and currency so you can track your investment over time, and upload photos of the instrument, key details (headstock, labels, backplate), and any unique marks. This not only helps with valuations and insurance but also makes it far easier to identify instruments at a glance when you’re moving fast on tour or in the studio.

For touring and logistics, always try to fill in weight and dimensions, especially for anything that might fly, go in a truck, or live in a shared case. You can specify whether it’s in a hard case, gig bag, or flight case and link it to a specific case entry if you’re tracking cases separately. Add a location such as home, studio, rehearsal space, storage, or “on tour” so you always know where that instrument is supposed to be.

Finally, use notes and maintenance fields for anything the next you needs to know. You can log last string change, setup, and service dates so Sonority can help you track when an instrument is due for attention. Over time, you end up with a clear, searchable view of your entire rig, which feeds directly into touring workflows and AI valuations.
